The "New" Flu Hit Us Hard {Not Very Fitness-y Friday}

This is so late, I feel like a horrible person for not posting this until now. Normally I wake up bright and early on Friday, weigh-in and sit down and write a heartfelt post about how much weight I've lost and what my game plan is for the next week.

Well, that didn't happen. This morning I had my husband all ready with the camera, so he could take pictures of my snazzy new scale (look for a giveaway soon!) and all the cool information it tells you. Well, I didn't explain to him that he had to take a picture of each screen and I was too dumbfounded by what the scale said to tell him what to do. I was expecting the scale to say "congrats, you lost a ton of weight this week!" ok, not literally  but I wanted it to tell me that I lost at least 3 pounds this week, I had to have lost AT LEAST that much, right?

This is how my week went: Friday through Sunday I watched what I ate, got two great exercise sessions in and then had a splurge of a date night with my husband. I know I said I wouldn't eat at restaurants anymore, but if you knew how rare it is for me to see my husband AND get a babysitter you would understand. Sunday night I felt a little icky and blamed it on the greasy food I was no longer used to eating. I washed down my birth control with a wine cooler because I was lazy and didn't want to pour water in a glass, then went to bed. I woke up at 4 AM to an insane sickness. After a couple hours I called my husband and told him I had food poisioning and there was no way I was going to be able to even feed Aliceana that morning, and I barely had energy to call anyone and asked if he could arrange to get someone to take her in case it was the flu. By the next day I was better and determined that it had to have been food poisoning and that I was safe to be around Aliceana.

Big freaking mistake. I now feel like the worst mother ever since I gave my daughter the awesome new "Ferrari Flu" they're calling it that because it goes through a crowd and a person so fast and furiously. So she's sick for the first time after she left the NICU, thank God this flu isn't respiratory so it's not affecting her too badly, she's mostly just sleeping a lot and we got it under control with Pedialyte.

The day after the flu hit me hard I weighed myself, I had lost 5.5 pounds! When I weighed myself today I had gained 3.5 pounds since then. I'm guessing it was all water weight and now that I'm no longer dehydrated I don't get as much of a weight loss. After 24 hours of going through the worst flu I've ever had, I thought at least a good weight loss would have resulted from it! That's terrible, I know, but it did help me get through the day on my own.

So long story short, I lost some weight, but not from hard work and determination at all!

This week I am going to try to go through two 30 minute workouts from my new (and free) Nike Training Club app that Kate from Crazy Lovely Me told me about! These are intense workouts! I also want to do another 30 minute dance workout and be under my 1200 calorie goal at least 6 days this week!

I would love for the scale to say 205 or under within the next week or two. I'm at 207.4 now which means I've lost 6 pounds this month since changing my lifestyle! I hope you join us for Getting Fit Fridays so you can share your goals and we can motivate each other!
