Today marks the birthday of two of the greatest Hobbits ever. I’m talking about Bilbo and Frodo of course! The Lord of the Rings series is basically the greatest story ever told. If you haven’t read the books do it, right now, nothing you could be doing could be more important than reading LOTR.
The Lord of the Rings movies are how I spent a few of my first dates with my husband. Although most of those times my head was filled with “I wanna kiss him, I wanna kiss him!” and I think my mind wasn’t too focused on the movies. Since then I’ve watched the series a lot more, and have read the amazing books.
We also play the RPG Lord of the Rings online, which is pretty amazing for a free RPG! I love being able to explore Middle Earth, meeting all the characters and whatnot, it makes the game so much more fun. It’s also a lot more like the books than the movies, which makes me extremely happy. My screenname on there is Draculinah if you want to play with me! I probably won’t be on there until after I’m over Gears of War 3 though haha.
Just last night I was talking with the husband about how fun it would be to live in Middle Earth. I don’t know exactly where we would fit in though. I would love to live in The Shire, but we would never fit anywhere there. Maybe someday we’ll be able to go to the place where Lord of the Rings was shot, I heard it’s absolutely gorgeous, it would make a great vacation spot.
I just wanted to dedicate a post to our favorite little hobbits! Happy Birthday little guys, go slay a dragon for me!
